Who’s Behind the Lens?

Shawn
Founder, Photographer
Shawn is a self-taught photographer with a deep passion for community and documenting history. He started getting statewide recognition during his Pot Hole photography series which put his name on the map. From there he has continued to support local events and initiatives through his photojournalism.
From photographing the Minnesota Vikings, to the George Floyd movement and today’s Anti-Ice protests and all the smaller local events in between he has become a name in the Minnesota photojournalism scene with both local and national recognition. He now has followers from around the world.
Along with photojournalism, he’s traveled around the Midwest photographing concerts and landscapes that are full of color and life. He has made large accomplishments all while continuing to work a full-time blue collar job in Mankato, MN.

Ashley
Partner, Photographer, Communications
Ashley started her photography career when she was 14 years old while working at a family-owned photography studio in Beresford, South Dakota. Throughout her years she has become an award winning photographer and has photographed weddings, family and children, senior portraits, sports and special events, and more. In 2018, she founded Beruck Studios in New Ulm, MN, a photography studio with a focus on business and headshot photography.
Along with her photography, Ashley has 10+ years in the marketing world with an emphasis on government and small businesses. She has spoken nationally helping local government agencies communicate efficiently and in plain language that all can understand. She also is the Digital COO for Redwood Valley Technical Solutions.
In 2025, Ashley joined forces with Shawn, merging Beruck Studios and 38th Street Media together. The years of diverse experience between the two makes for a great partnership.
